Since I just "knew" this baby was a boy this whole time I never thought that we would have to actually come up with a girls name. I know God is laughing at me. However, when Add and I were in college, about 2 years ago, we met a friend and I instantly clicked with her. We became pretty close that next year until we parted ways, moving to different towns. She was sweet, beautiful inside and out and had a heart for the Lord. Neither me or Add will never forget her name because we fell in love with it as soon as she introduced herself. I told Addison after we met that we if we ever had a girl I wanted to name her _____. Well two years later we were still in love with the name and decided to put a middle name with it about two weeks ago so we would have one ready just in case! Now, I cannot imagine her name being anything else.
We cannot wait to welcome our sweet Tatum Blair into this world.
Tatum means "cheerful, full of spirit".
Blair means "plain". It is also associated with a battlefield. I don't know what the Lord quite wants us to see in "plain" but I know she will be far from it! We do know that she will be a warrior and am praying she fights for everything she believes in. She has already been called "Tate" and "Tater". We cannot wait to meet our little "Tater Tot"!!

20 Weeks and the gender!
Addison and I had quite the week so the anxiousness of finding out if we were having a boy or a girl was a little subdued by all the craziness going on. Last Monday I went to hear the heart beat for my regular OB appt. The heart beat went down to 154 which she said was right on track for a growing baby. When I got home from the appt I knew I didn't feel good so I took my temp and of course I was running fever. I stayed in bed and slept all day Monday. Yuck! Tuesday I felt a little better but still stayed in so I wouldn't get anyone sick and cleaned up the house a little bit. On Wednesday I had to hustle and get everything ready for the gender reveal party and the garage sale that were happening in the same day. Thursday I subbed which helped me get my find off of the appt that we had Friday to finally see our baby girl or boy. Friday morning, Add and I headed to Hendrick for our 20 week ultrasound! I cannot even tell you how amazing it is to see your child, still inside you, moving, scratching his or her head, moving their toes and flipping all around. This baby is very very active and the ultrasound tech could barely keep up! It took everything we had not to peak and find out early but decided that we would wait until Saturday to find out at the party.
We had some really amazing friends and family that were not able to make it in but still sent their support and love to us!
Saturday we woke up and started our garage sale and then rested the rest of the day until we had to get ready for pictures with my family before the party. One of our good friends, Kelly Gilgenbach loves photography and is awesome at it so we asked him to snap a few pictures of my family (since my brothers were in town) and of Addison and me for our Christmas card. I cannot wait to get them back and see what great shots he got!
Finally it was party time!! Everyone showed up and we all ate our burgers with much anticipation for dessert....pink or blue cupcakes!
We gathered everyone inside and counted to 3 and everyone opened up and bit into their cupcake. I was so shocked whenever we found out....

It's a girl!
The whole time I just knew it was a boy. I had a boys room planned in my mind, we had finalized a boy name and the list goes on and on... We are SO excited and cannot wait for this baby girl to get here.
These are all iPhone pics but once we get the ones from Kelly and I download mine from my real camera I'll do an updated post!
At 20 Weeks:
How far along: 20 weeks, 1 day.
Due date: March 15!
Gender: A sweet baby girl!
Cravings/Aversions: Pretty much can handle anything...except BBQ.
Sleep: One night I'll sleep horrible and the next I'll sleep pretty good. There is a sharp pain in my upper left back and it wraps around to the left side of my chest that will not go away. It has been here since I got pregnant but as the weeks go by it just keeps getting worse and worse. Anyone experience this and know what to do? My doctor said "it will go away when the baby comes out." So I'm supposed to be in pain for the next 20 weeks?
Movement: Lots and lots of movement. Baby girl is most active right when we are going to bed but kicks all the time whenever I get still.
Maternity clothes: I'm in all maternity pants, however I did try on some pre-pregnancy jeans and they still fit! Of course I would need a hair tie to keep them together but hey, I was pretty proud. My normal shirts are getting too short , plus I like long tops anyways so maternity tops are becoming more and more common.
Best moment this week: Finally finding out we are having a girl!!!
Next appointment: November 18th to hear the heart beat.
Next post: A perfect name for a perfect little girl!

Our weekend
Last weekend my mom and I went to visit my brother in Austin while Addison went hunting with dad at the ranch. Add got the first buck of the season at the Morris Ranch!
Mom and I got to Austin Friday night and were so tired so we asked Trav to come to the hotel and eat there. It was nice, relaxing and we went straight to bed after. Saturday morning we slept in, watched TV, got room service and played with Millie (yes she went with us) until we finally decided we should probably leave the room and get out and see a little bit of Austin. We hit up "The Domain" shopping center which was amazing! It just so happened to be "Dogtober Fest" so everyone and their mom had at least one dog with them so Millie fit right in! Every store and restaurant was so pet friendly which was nice because we didn't want to leave Millie in the hotel room even though she loved watching the canoers on the lake.
Mom and I sat and people/dog watched for a long time over a really late lunch/early dinner while Travis finished up work. Once he was off we picked him up and he took us to another pet friendly restaurant where we bundled up and sat outside and had hot chocolate and appetizers for dinner.
It was really good to get to see Travis and get away for the weekend. I love the atmosphere in Austin, all the trees, bike/walking paths and that every place is pet friendly.
A few other changes: I am now 19 weeks pregnant and starting to feel pretty big and uncomfortable. Yes, I realize I am only halfway there. Will I ever get my flat tummy/no love handles/regular bra size back?
I also got a little crafty last week and made some things for the gender reveal party and hung a few wreaths around the house.
Addison says the above wreath reminds him of a witch's hair and brings bad vibes into the house. I like it.
We took the down the TV that was hanging above the mantle in the "wood room" (extra sitting and dining room that has wood floors) and put it in our room so it would actually get used. I put up this book page covered canvas that I made last Christmas and attached a mini wreath to it. This room is currently filled with garage sale stuff that we are having this Saturday morning. If you want our address for the garage sale email me at charleeanntempleton@gmail.com!
I have not been feeling very good so I've been laying low, cleaning out closets and getting some sleep in. There are definitely days when I miss working at the bank (as an HR Specialist) and then there are days when I am thankful to be home and get some rest in before the baby gets here. Subbing has been pretty slow lately so I have gotten a lot cleaned out and have caught up on some things that have needed to get done.
We are so looking forward to seeing our baby again this Friday and finding out our sweet pea is a little boy or a little girl on Saturday. Be back then! Have a great week!

Online Shopping!
Mom and I are about to head to Austin for the weekend to visit my oldest brother, Travis! Add and my dad will be hunting all weekend with some guys so it this is a great chance to get away and enjoy some time outside of Abilene. Before I leave though, I was excited to make a few purchases...one for the baby (and me), one for me and one for Millie! I have been looking at all sorts of rockers and ottomans for the baby's room but just haven't found that right now. I am planning on nursing (if I'm able to) and I wanted a place to be able to nurse the baby if people were around and just to rock and relax when needed. I am wanting to go pretty neutral if the baby is a boy or girl so when I found this rocker on sale I just knew it was the right one. My parents are so so sweet and bought us the rocker and the ottoman as a baby gift! The legs of the rocker can also be taken off and made stationary if I ever wanted to use the chair somewhere else so it was all around a great buy.
Hope y'all have a great weekend!
Add and I have been searching for a pregnancy pillow for a couple weeks now. I think I bother him just as much as I drive myself crazy during the night so a big comfy pillow was a soon-to-be must in this household. I have heard a lot about the "Bump Nest" pregnancy pillows but being that they were so expensive we kept searching. After looking in Abilene and searching the web, I went with a 10% off coupon and ended up ordering the Bump Nest pillow before we all went insane from no sleep. I can't wait for it to get here so we I can try it out.
Last but not least we got Millie girl her first (that we know of) Halloween costume! She is going to absolutely hate love it!!! We are crazy, I know.

18 Weeks: Month 5!
This pregnancy is flying by! Everyone told me that it would go by fast but I had no clue it would go by this fast. It seems like yesterday that we were just telling our family and friends and now we're almost halfway through!
At 18 Weeks:
How far along: 18 weeks, 4 days
Due date: March 15
Gender: As it gets closer I am becoming more and more confused as to what the gender of baby is. I have sworn it was a boy this whole time until these last couple of weeks. We find out in a week and a half on the 26th!
Cravings/Aversions: Still not into BBQ but other than I pretty much like/don't like everything the same as before I was pregnant.
Sleep: Sleep is actually a whole lot better! I don't know what changed from week 16 until now but I actually slept the whole night without waking up since I found out I was pregnant. I am currently searching for a pregnancy pillow though to help out a little bit.
Movement: Lots and lots of movement! Baby started kicking around 17 1/2 weeks and has not quit since. All day every day baby is squirming and kicking me as soon as I get still. Add got to feel the baby kick for the first time last night. It really is the coolest feeling in the world.
Maternity clothes: I'm in mostly all maternity pants because well, why not! The majority of my regular pre-pregnancy shirts are getting too short and show the band on my maternity pants so I am wearing oversized shirts, sweaters and some maternity shirts that aren't still huge. My sweet momma has taken me shopping and gotten me some really cute things that don't even look maternity. I will be able to wear all of it for many babies to come...
Only when you're pregnant: When I see people now they look straight at my belly at then at my eyes. This is something that I don't think I will ever get use to.
Best moments this week: Feeling the baby move all the time!
Next Appointment: We have one to hear the heartbeat on October 21st and a gender sonogram with the hospital on October 25th. I don't know how we are going to wait one
whole day to find out the gender at the party.

The Past Month
We've had a pretty busy September and October, so busy that I haven't had time to blog about it. I feel like I'm doing good if I can get in the baby updates every 2 weeks. Instead of going into detail of what we did, I'll just let the pictures do the talking.
Next up: 18 week update!
My parents took me to Perini's to celebrate my 23rd birthday.
My dad kept making us laugh so this one and the next one were
the best ones we could get!
|
Keri had made cupcakes for me and bought me some cute maternity clothes!
|
Millie of course keeps us laughing all the time. |
The day after my birthday (Friday the 20th) Add and I headed to Waco
to visit Drew and Christina. We got to experience our first Baylor football game.
|
The few times I've been Waco I have had to go to "Spice". It is such a cute
store with tons of different booths. We couldhave easily spent all day in there.
|
Part of the perks of helping out mom and having a day off from subbing means we get to leave town for the day. This time we visited my brother, Trent, in Fort Worth for the day. |
The weather has been so pretty here that Add and I often take Millie
on walks around our beautiful neighborhood. Did I also mention Add
is training for a half marathon? He is doing awesome!
|
This was last weeks 17 baby bump pic for my iPhone App.
I guess I should get to cleaning that mirror.... |
I finally got our diplomas and Aggie Ring picture framed and hung!
Now the hall from our living room to ourbedroom is not so plain anymore.
|
Like I said before, Millie is always making us laugh at the crazy things she does. We often come home and find her in drawers (like my parents did when they were watching her), hiding in shelves, under the bed, under the covers or just sprawled out in her dog bed. We are still a little uncertain as to how she is going to react when the baby gets here, but I'm sure she'll do just fine.

16 Weeks
Well, this post came a littler later than anticipated but I'm still in my 16th week...16 weeks, 4 days to be exact. The past few weeks have been crazy, crazy and haven't gotten to blog in a while! I turned 23 years old, (the first time I wrote this post I said I was 24. I had to sit for a minute and remember how old I was. I blame it on "pregnancy brain") visited friends in Waco, welcomed in "Opening Weekend" for deer hunting and have been subbing quite a bit while also helping my mom out when needed. Next post: life update. This post I'll stick to a 16 week update.
Instagram pic at 15 weeks, 6 days. |
Almost a week later at 16 weeks, 4 days. Belly looks a lot bigger than I think it actually is. I had to take my own picture this week. Sorry for the poor quality. |
How far along: 16 weeks, 4 days.
Due Date: March 15
Gender: Still thinking it's a boy but took a silly online gender test and it said girl. I guess we'll see on October 26th at the Gender Reveal Party.
Cravings/Aversions: I think it is safe to say after a few times of trying to eat BBQ, I want to puke. I normally don't care for it much but now it's way worse. No BBQ for me please. Other than that, I just try to eat small meals throughout the day. If I eat a big meal (like I just did) my belly feels huge and uncomfortable. I know pretty soon I won't have to eat a big meal to feel huge and uncomfortable.
Sleep: Still getting up at least once to go to the bathroom. I am often found guilty of stealing Addison's extra pillow to stuff under my belly and between my legs. Again, I can't imagine when my belly is actually big how many pillows I will need. I still haven't given in and bought a pregnancy pillow yet...obviously.
Movement: None.
Maternity Clothes: I can still fit into most if not all of my regular clothes but maternity clothes are SO much more comfortable. For my birthday, I got some maternity jeans and pretty much wear those everyday when I am not subbing. My mom and I went to visit my brother in Fort Worth and found a Gap Maternity and she treated me to some cute maternity tops for when baby grows a little big bigger. It's amazing how stylish maternity clothes are these days. You can barely even tell what's maternity and whats not!
Only when you're pregnant: I thought I would add this field because there have been some funny/strange things that have been going on that would only happen to me if I was pregnant.
1. I have diagnosed myself with chronic pregnancy hiccups. A little bit into my first trimester I started to have random hiccups throughout the day. I never know when they will come and they are usually one at a time. My family thinks it's quite comical.
2. The changes that come with a new week are so crazy to me. I can now feel the "grapefruit or melon", or whatever size my uterus is now, in my stomach. Not only on the outside but when I lay down on my back, it is becoming very uncomfortable to have a melon sitting on my other organs, not to mention my bladder.
3. The belly rubbing has begun. Friends and family that know I am pregnant have officially decided it is time to start rubbing my belly at any moment and I never know when it's coming. It is weird to have your own body for almost 23 years and then all of a sudden your belly is free game for anyone who desires to rub it. I actually don't mind it but it will take some getting use to.
4. When you have to pee all of a sudden you better get a bathroom to appear within 2 minutes or it's bad news.
5. The same goes for food.

Best moments this week: Exactly a week ago we got to hear the baby's heart beat again. It is down from 165 to 155 which she said was right on track. There is nothing that can make me smile (besides my husband) as big as I do when I hear that heartbeat. It gets me every time and absolutely blows my mind. I can't wait to actually see the baby in 3 weeks and see how big HE has grown! ;)
Next Appointment: We have one to hear the heartbeat on October 21st and a gender sonogram with the hospital on October 25th. I don't know how we are going to wait one whole day to find out the gender at the party.
