30 Weeks

Wow, almost 31 weeks already!  We have been in the 3rd trimester for a couple weeks now and just entered the 8th month!  I can honestly say I have no idea where the time went, but I hope it slows down once our sweet girl gets here.  Since we got home from Taos on the 2nd, we Addison has made lots of progress on the nursery.  After putting quarter round around the trim and a fresh coat of paint to go with it, the floors are completely done!  Thank you Add and Pa for getting that completed! Curtains are hung, rocker/ottoman are finally in her room, the furniture should be done getting painted any day now and we still have to find a rug, but it is finally starting to look like a nursery!

On Monday, I had a doctor's appointment and it went really well.  I can't thank the Lord enough for such an amazing and uneventful pregnancy.  Even when I think I feel bad I know there are women going through things much worse.  My blood pressure has remained great my whole pregnancy, weight gain is still in the healthy range (phew!), Tatum was a little thing at first but has now caught up and is actually measuring a week early (we'll see how that turns out), her heart rate was 140 and her head is down!  Just a few more weeks of gaining some chub and little girl will be ready to make her debut!  There are so many people waiting on you sweet girl. 

In other news, my mom, cousin Keri and I went and registered today!  It was a little tiring thinking of everything that she will need.  I was glad I had Keri with me to think about things like baby Tylenol and such.  This way I will have one giant list of almost absolutely everything we will need for her arrival.  Such an exciting time.  I have been extremely thankful for my sister-in-law Ashlee, cousin Keri and my life group leader, Kendra, for helping me out and letting me know things that worked or didn't work for their little ones.  I can't wait to start a list of my own favorite things once she gets here.   

Tomorrow, I will be heading to Dallas for one last girls trip before little miss makes her debut.  Since I wasn't sure exactly when I have to quit traveling we thought we better be safe than sorry and go in January.  I can't wait to get in some girl time, go shopping and also see one of my best friends, Lauren that lives in College Station that will be meeting us there!  Dallas here we come!

At 30 weeks:

How far along: 30 weeks, 5 days

Due date: March 15 (hopefully sooner...one can wish, right?)

Size: 15.71 in, 2.91 lbs.  Size of a cabbage.

Cravings/Aversions: No strong cravings or aversions.

Sleep: Sleep?  What's that?  I have had a very hard time getting to sleep and when that finally happens I usually wake up at least every couple hours to either go to the bathroom or roll over.  This week I have stayed awake from about 4:00-6:00am just laying in bed sitting straight up to give my hips a rest.  Reading the last book in the Hunger Games makes those early morning hours go by faster when your in pain.  When Add leaves for work I take up the whole bed and stretch forever to try and get the soreness out.  I have always thought the hardest thing about having a baby would be the lack of sleep.  Now, I know it will still be way different when she actually gets here and is screaming her head off at 3am, but I definitely think the Lord is molding and preparing me for that lack of sleep now which I am so thankful for.  Poor Addison usually wakes up with me and has been quite tired this week as well.  

Movement: She is moving, kicking, hiccuping and rolling like crazy.  I will feel her kick my right hip bone and then instantly kick my left rib cage.  She is crazy.  Sometimes I wonder if she ever sleeps in there.  It seems to me that she is very very active but I don't have another pregnancy to compare it to.  I can't wait to see what she will be like once she gets here.  

Maternity clothes: Definitely in all maternity clothes.  Some of my maternity tops are even too short now.  How is that even possible?  I just need a few to get me through the next 9 weeks and I'll be good.  I have told myself over and over again that a summer pregnancy is definitely the way to go next time.  Floating in the pool, maxi dresses and flip-flops (oh how I miss not grunting and getting out of breath every time I try to put my socks and boots on) is sounding pretty good right now.

Best moment this week: Finishing the floors in T's room and nailing down a date for her shower!

Next appointment: January 20th.  We have moved to appointments every two weeks.  I hope this makes the time fly by!

Our weekend

Last weekend my mom and I went to visit my brother in Austin while Addison went hunting with dad at the ranch.  Add got the first buck of the season at the Morris Ranch!

 Mom and I got to Austin Friday night and were so tired so we asked Trav to come to the hotel and eat there.  It was nice, relaxing and we went straight to bed after.  Saturday morning we slept in, watched TV, got room service and played with Millie (yes she went with us) until we finally decided we should probably leave the room and get out and see a little bit of Austin.  We hit up "The Domain" shopping center which was amazing!  It just so happened to be "Dogtober Fest" so everyone and their mom had at least one dog with them so Millie fit right in!  Every store and restaurant was so pet friendly which was nice because we didn't want to leave Millie in the hotel room even though she loved watching the canoers on the lake.

 Mom and I sat and people/dog watched for a long time over a really late lunch/early dinner while Travis finished up work.  Once he was off we picked him up and he took us to another pet friendly restaurant where we bundled up and sat outside and had hot chocolate and appetizers for dinner.  

 It was really good to get to see Travis and get away for the weekend.  I love the atmosphere in Austin, all the trees, bike/walking paths and that every place is pet friendly. 

A few other changes:  I am now 19 weeks pregnant and starting to feel pretty big and uncomfortable.  Yes, I realize I am only halfway there.  Will I ever get my flat tummy/no love handles/regular bra size back?  

I also got a little crafty last week and made some things for the gender reveal party and hung a few wreaths around the house. 

Addison says the above wreath reminds him of a witch's hair and brings bad vibes into the house.  I like it.

We took the down the TV that was hanging above the mantle in the "wood room" (extra sitting and dining room that has wood floors) and put it in our room so it would actually get used.  I put up this book page covered canvas that I made last Christmas and attached a mini wreath to it.  This room is currently filled with garage sale stuff that we are having this Saturday morning.  If you want our address for the garage sale email me at charleeanntempleton@gmail.com!

I have not been feeling very good so I've been laying low, cleaning out closets and getting some sleep in.  There are definitely days when I miss working at the bank (as an HR Specialist) and then there are days when I am thankful to be home and get some rest in before the baby gets here.  Subbing has been pretty slow lately so I have gotten a lot cleaned out and have caught up on some things that have needed to get done.  

We are so looking forward to seeing our baby again this Friday and finding out our sweet pea is a little boy or a little girl on Saturday.  Be back then!  Have a great week!

Online Shopping!

Mom and I are about to head to Austin for the weekend to visit my oldest brother, Travis!  Add and my dad will be hunting all weekend with some guys so it this is a great chance to get away and enjoy some time outside of Abilene.  Before I leave though, I  was excited to make a few purchases...one for the baby (and me), one for me and one for Millie!  I have been looking at all sorts of rockers and ottomans for the baby's room but just haven't found that right now.  I am planning on nursing (if I'm able to) and I wanted a place to be able to nurse the baby if people were around and just to rock and relax when needed.  I am wanting to go pretty neutral if the baby is a boy or girl so when I found this rocker on sale I just knew it was the right one.  My parents are so so sweet and bought us the rocker and the ottoman as a baby gift! The legs of the rocker can also be taken off and made stationary if I ever wanted to use the chair somewhere else so it was all around a great buy.  

Add and I have been searching for a pregnancy pillow for a couple weeks now.  I think I bother him just as much as I drive myself crazy during the night so a big comfy pillow was a soon-to-be must in this household.  I have heard a lot about the "Bump Nest" pregnancy pillows but being that they were so expensive we kept searching.  After looking in Abilene and searching the web, I went with a 10% off coupon and ended up ordering the Bump Nest pillow before we all went insane from no sleep.  I can't wait for it to get here so we I can try it out.  

Last but not least we got Millie girl her first (that we know of) Halloween costume!  She is going to absolutely hate love it!!! We are crazy, I know.

The Past Month

We've had a pretty busy September and October, so busy that I haven't had time to blog about it.  I feel like I'm doing good if I can get in the baby updates every 2 weeks.  Instead of going into detail of what we did, I'll just let the pictures do the talking. 

My parents took me to Perini's to celebrate my 23rd birthday.

The day after my birthday (Friday the 20th) Add and I headed to Waco 

to visit Drew and Christina.  We got to experience our first Baylor football game.  

The few times I've been Waco I have had to go to "Spice". It is such a cute 

store with tons of different booths.  We couldhave easily spent all day in there. 

Part of the perks of helping out mom and having a day off
from subbing means we get to leave town for the day.  This time we
visited my brother, Trent, in Fort Worth for the day.  

The weather has been so pretty here that Add and I often take Millie 

on walks around our beautiful neighborhood.  Did I also mention Add

 is training for a half marathon? He is doing awesome!

I finally got our diplomas and Aggie Ring picture framed and hung!  

Now the hall from our living room to ourbedroom is not so plain anymore.  

Like I said before, Millie is always making us laugh at the crazy things she does.  We often come home and find her in drawers (like my parents did when they were watching her), hiding in shelves, under the bed, under the covers or just sprawled out in her dog bed.  We are still a little uncertain as to how she is going to react when the baby gets here, but I'm sure she'll do just fine.

14 Weeks: Hello 2nd Trimester!

I am so excited to finally be in the 2nd trimester of this pregnancy.  To others, 14 weeks may still seem like that's not very far along, but to us, we have come a long way!  It was another crazy weekend in the Templeton house.  I think I can officially say I am ready for a weekend where we don't have anything to do!  Add started off the weekend on Friday and went hunting that continued into Saturday morning.  When he got back, we had just a little bit of time to watch the pre-game festivities together.  

 I then had to hurry and make it to Lytle Cove Cottage where one of my good friends Seba, asked me to do makeup for her and her wedding party.  It was a lot of fun hanging out with the girls and doing makeup.  Seba made a beautiful bride!

Now to the 14 week update:

How far along: 14 weeks, 2 days. 

Due date: March 15

Gender: I just know it's a boy.  We find out on October 25!

Size and weight of baby: The size of a lemon.  3.41 inches and 1.52 oz.  

Cravings/Aversions: I still love anything cheesy but this week I am loving oranges.  I bought little orange cups to put in my lunch to take to school when I sub and they didn't quite make it to school.  I see a grocery trip in my near future.  

Sleep: Sleeping has gotten much better in the past two weeks.  I have only been getting up 1 time in the middle of the night to go to the restroom.  I still can't get very comfortable which makes me think I need to start looking at a maternity pillow.

Movement: None

Maternity clothes: Baby has grown A LOT in the past two weeks.  I can still fit in to most of my normal pants, they just aren't comfortable at all.  My SIL gave me a pair of maternity shorts and they are wonderful.  They stretch where they are supposed to and don't squish the baby.  I'm thinking in the next few weeks I'll probably be in all maternity pants.  

Best moment this week: Finally have a little belly to prove there is something growing inside there!  My husband this week told me that he finally believes that I'm pregnant.  Thanks honey.

Next Appointment: September 25th to hear the heart beat. 

Our Weekend and What's Happening

Last weekend my SIL, Ashlee, and I headed to Katy and College Station to visit my other SIL's and one of my BFF's Lauren.  Addison had to go to Florida for work and my parents are in Hawaii so I decided to take off for the weekend. 

It was quite comical on the way to Katy with a baby and my other SIL's (yes that makes my SIL count 4!) dog in the back seat.  When Annalee would get upset the dog would bark and it would just go back and forth until we reached College Station to drop him off.  We were happy to get some rest that night!

We then continued on the road to Katy to spend the first few nights away.  It was good to get away, relax, shop and see family.  We jumped right into their weekend that included going to Natalie's Freshman volleyball game which was so fun to watch.  Saturday morning Ashlee and I headed to the mall for some quick last minute shopping and of course we parked in the "mothers to be" parking spot.  She's about 10 weeks farther along than I am!  I'm so excited to have these two cousins so close in age.  

We then all headed to College Station (Ashlee, Annalee, me, Amy and her girls, Natalie and Maddie).  Our first stop was Freebirds where we also met Misty, Courtney and Jency. These are all the Templeton girls besides my MIL!  

After this we hit up a few tent sales in College Station.  Tent sales are big in CS on game day weekends.  You can buy all your Aggie gear in one place for Saturday's game.  They are huge and there are tons of them around CS so we all got lots of goodies!  I left the girls for a little bit to spend a little time with Lauren before she had to head to the game.  While everyone was at the game Misty, Ashlee and I ate at another one of my favorite places in CS, McAlister's.  The town of CS can go from absolute chaos to completely quiet in a matter of minutes.  This is when you can tell that everyone has packed themselves into Kyle Field which left the roads and restaurants clear for us!  

It was fun to see Annalee and Jency play together and get in some girl time before we had to leave the next morning.  It's always so good to go back to College Station and visit Katy in one trip!

In other news, Addison is officially done with the Leadership Development Academy at FDLIC!  He started this program right when he graduated and has worked so hard to get to where he is today.  He will now officially start his real job and continue on with a great career at FDLIC.  We are so thankful for this program and the amazing opportunities he has had so far.  We are so excited for what's to come! 

I have also started to Substitute Teach in the Wylie school district.  Yesterday was my first day and phew am I tired!  These teachers have a tough but rewarding job.  My first mistake was wearing wedges to a 5th grade classroom.  I basically walked up and down the aisles all day and boy did my feet hurt!  I think I will go with flats from now on.  The kids were so sweet and even though they were a little chatty, they were still respectful.  Today I will be subbing for a PE class in the afternoon and get to play basketball for a few hours.  That's my kind of work!
