14 Weeks: Hello 2nd Trimester!

I am so excited to finally be in the 2nd trimester of this pregnancy.  To others, 14 weeks may still seem like that's not very far along, but to us, we have come a long way!  It was another crazy weekend in the Templeton house.  I think I can officially say I am ready for a weekend where we don't have anything to do!  Add started off the weekend on Friday and went hunting that continued into Saturday morning.  When he got back, we had just a little bit of time to watch the pre-game festivities together.

I then had to hurry and make it to Lytle Cove Cottage where one of my good friends Seba, asked me to do makeup for her and her wedding party.  It was a lot of fun hanging out with the girls and doing makeup.  Seba made a beautiful bride!

Now to the 14 week update:

How far along: 14 weeks, 2 days.
Due date: March 15
Gender: I just know it's a boy.  We find out on October 25!
Size and weight of baby: The size of a lemon.  3.41 inches and 1.52 oz.
Cravings/Aversions: I still love anything cheesy but this week I am loving oranges.  I bought little orange cups to put in my lunch to take to school when I sub and they didn't quite make it to school.  I see a grocery trip in my near future.
Sleep: Sleeping has gotten much better in the past two weeks.  I have only been getting up 1 time in the middle of the night to go to the restroom.  I still can't get very comfortable which makes me think I need to start looking at a maternity pillow.
Movement: None
Maternity clothes: Baby has grown A LOT in the past two weeks.  I can still fit in to most of my normal pants, they just aren't comfortable at all.  My SIL gave me a pair of maternity shorts and they are wonderful.  They stretch where they are supposed to and don't squish the baby.  I'm thinking in the next few weeks I'll probably be in all maternity pants.
Best moment this week: Finally have a little belly to prove there is something growing inside there!  My husband this week told me that he finally believes that I'm pregnant.  Thanks honey.
Next Appointment: September 25th to hear the heart beat.

Our Weekend and What's Happening

Last weekend my SIL, Ashlee, and I headed to Katy and College Station to visit my other SIL's and one of my BFF's Lauren.  Addison had to go to Florida for work and my parents are in Hawaii so I decided to take off for the weekend.

It was quite comical on the way to Katy with a baby and my other SIL's (yes that makes my SIL count 4!) dog in the back seat.  When Annalee would get upset the dog would bark and it would just go back and forth until we reached College Station to drop him off.  We were happy to get some rest that night!

We then continued on the road to Katy to spend the first few nights away.  It was good to get away, relax, shop and see family.  We jumped right into their weekend that included going to Natalie's Freshman volleyball game which was so fun to watch.  Saturday morning Ashlee and I headed to the mall for some quick last minute shopping and of course we parked in the "mothers to be" parking spot.  She's about 10 weeks farther along than I am!  I'm so excited to have these two cousins so close in age.

We then all headed to College Station (Ashlee, Annalee, me, Amy and her girls, Natalie and Maddie).  Our first stop was Freebirds where we also met Misty, Courtney and Jency. These are all the Templeton girls besides my MIL!

After this we hit up a few tent sales in College Station.  Tent sales are big in CS on game day weekends.  You can buy all your Aggie gear in one place for Saturday's game.  They are huge and there are tons of them around CS so we all got lots of goodies!  I left the girls for a little bit to spend a little time with Lauren before she had to head to the game.  While everyone was at the game Misty, Ashlee and I ate at another one of my favorite places in CS, McAlister's.  The town of CS can go from absolute chaos to completely quiet in a matter of minutes.  This is when you can tell that everyone has packed themselves into Kyle Field which left the roads and restaurants clear for us!

It was fun to see Annalee and Jency play together and get in some girl time before we had to leave the next morning.  It's always so good to go back to College Station and visit Katy in one trip!

In other news, Addison is officially done with the Leadership Development Academy at FDLIC!  He started this program right when he graduated and has worked so hard to get to where he is today.  He will now officially start his real job and continue on with a great career at FDLIC.  We are so thankful for this program and the amazing opportunities he has had so far.  We are so excited for what's to come!

I have also started to Substitute Teach in the Wylie school district.  Yesterday was my first day and phew am I tired!  These teachers have a tough but rewarding job.  My first mistake was wearing wedges to a 5th grade classroom.  I basically walked up and down the aisles all day and boy did my feet hurt!  I think I will go with flats from now on.  The kids were so sweet and even though they were a little chatty, they were still respectful.  Today I will be subbing for a PE class in the afternoon and get to play basketball for a few hours.  That's my kind of work!

12 Weeks

I can't believe I only have two more weeks until I am officially in my 2nd Trimester!  I think I am over the hump of feeling bad these days.  At the beginning of my pregnancy I literally felt like a train hit me every single time I woke up in the morning.  I didn't feel good, I didn't want to get out of bed because I knew I would feel even worse and I had absolutely no energy whatsoever.  I went and got all my bloodwork done and it turns out that I was very low on iron.  I've always had this problem but it hasn't been too bad to where my energy or anything else was suffering...that I know of.  Once I started taking my daily dose or iron it was almost immediate that I saw my energy rising.  So whether or not my low energy was actually attributed to my lack or iron, I am feeling much better and am starting to feel like my old self again.

This past week started out great.  I went early on Monday and got to hear the baby's heart beat.  It is such a refreshing feeling to hear that baby every four weeks and to know that everything is ok.

Baby has gotten some really great gifts since we found out we were pregnant.  Family and friends have already showered us with more love than we could ever ask for.

Of course this baby has to have a camo outfit.  He/she will be a hunter just like their mommy  and daddy.

My mom was so sweet to get me my pregnancy journals and the Duggar's book.  I just love their family so much.  She didn't forget about the daddy though!
Mom also got Baby T a little A&M Baseball uniform to wear for the games!
One of my best friends, Christina, got baby T that cute bib that folds up into a pouch and the precious "You Are My Sunshine" onsie.  Keri and J picked up the giraffe while they were on a little vacation.
My sister-in-law got Baby T this hilarious onsie that he/she will definitely be wearing at the river next summer!
I still can't put into words how humbling it is to know how many people have already blessed our little one, not just with gifts but words, notes, phone calls and texts.  We are so lucky to have the friends and family that we do.

Now to the baby update!

Teeny tiny baby bump.

How far along: 12 weeks today!

Size and weight of baby: 2 1/2 inches and weighing in at a whopping 1/2 of an ounce.
Weight gain: No weight gain yet!  I think that's all about to change though.

Cravings: Cheese!  Mostly macaroni and cheese.  My mom said that is no different than from before I was pregnant.

Sleep: Sleep has not be great.  I usually wake up at least 3 times and once to go to the bathroom.  Sometimes I'll go right back asleep, other times I'll stay awake for long periods of time.  It is a little frustrating at times!

Movement: None!

Maternity Clothes: I bought my first maternity shirt at Target yesterday.  Can't beat a $7 maternity shirt!  I also bought a belly band waiting for the day when those pants just won't quite button up.  I am still wearing all of my regular clothing, it just all fits a little differently these days.

Best moment this week: Getting to hear Baby T's heart beat.

Next appointment: September 25th.

where we spend most of our time

I haven't posted some house pictures in a while so I thought I would let you in on our living room at the stage that it's in.  Our living room is sort of skinny and long so it has been a little hard to figure out what to do with it but I think what we have going works just fine.  There are of course so many things that I would love to do different but it is cozy and makes me happy and I think it just perfect for our first house.  Now when the babe comes, that will be a different story.  We will have to do some serious baby proofing.  (Let me go ahead and apologize, like I do in every post with pictures, of the poor quality of the photos.  My iPhone seems to take better pictures than my actual digital camera and this is about as good as it gets.)  Maybe I'll get a new camera before the baby gets here? ;)

This is what you see to the left when you walk in the front door.

This corner was quite the headache for a long time.  It's still not perfect but works just fine.

I love looking at all the pictures in our home.  It makes it much more warm and inviting, I think.

This couch was Add and mine's first purchase together towards the end of our engagement.  All of the other furniture (besides the entertainment center) in the living room was given to us by family that wasn't needed anymore.  The curtains, side tables and pillows are from pottery barn.  The lamps and couch and from Market in Dallas.

Addison built the entertainment center with his uncle and dad and it turned out amazing.  I would like to still put two doors on the front to hide toys, diapers and whatever else.  I am also hoping we'll get a mantle built for the fireplace before Christmas.  We have another fireplace in the second living room/dining room but we don't go in there much so I would love to be able to decorate a mantle and have a place to hang our stockings in the main living room.

It seems like just when things are really coming together we have to make more changes (like preparing for a baby) but we are overjoyed to do so.  Since our house is only a two bedroom, we are going to clean out the guest bedroom and rip out the bathroom hopefully pretty soon!  I think this will also great value to the house since that bathroom is horrendous and can barely fit one person at the moment.  I'm learning that house decorating/renovating is a big process and cannot all be done at one time which is frustrating sometimes but I am learning to adjust.  I am so thankful for our little house and all that we have been able to do so far.
